To see a tiger in the wild is a waking dream. Suddenly you feel more alive. We want this dream to last, yet between poaching and habitat destruction, its chances are slim. Great cats need more places in the human environment where they can thrive until mankind is ready to share the world fairly with wildlife. The only answer is large, well-maintained captive populations that are genetically diverse, physically strong, mentally acute and emotionally fit.

"Species Survival Plans" impress zoo visitors, yet may actually do more harm than good because they lull the government and public into complacency. Since safety and humane needs are protected by existing laws, blanket bans can only do more harm than good. We are working to put the needs of the public and wild and captive animals into healthy perspective.
